As we age there are times in life where we face huge changes: illness, death, retirement or moving from a long term residence are experiences that require help to carry us through. Age brings new chapters and a lot of decisons. Many elders are facing these challanges without community or familial support. Sometimes we don’t have loved ones who can take on this traditional work. Sometimes this complex, tiring work can put so much stress on both elder and descendants that is causes more harm than good. As a professional I step into this deeply personal role with the strength required to guide an elder’s emotional journey while holding space for their past. Tending to long timelines is not light work and it has become a part of my business that I hold close to my heart.

Too often I have heard horror stories of large outfit downsizing firms who are booked without the full understanding of an elder. These teams swoop in without honouring the delicate threads that make up ones life and my clients end up deeply traumatized and without their physical memories properly preserved. In the same vein, when many elder clients lose the ability to care for their own home they are treated by cold, medical based cleaning companies who make them feel infantilized and ashamed. My aim is to be a helpful and steadfast personal support worker for any cleaning, organizational or late life planning services. I am comfortable in the face of both illness and death. With the utmost dignity of care, I support elders with honesty, familial knowledge and a listening ear. They know their stories and their things better than anyone else.
